Handspun Alpaca Robe

This is a blanket/robe woven with purchased wool warp and handspun alpaca weft. I am the hand spinner who was instrumental in the results, as well as being the weaver.  This is over 40″ wide by 88″ long plus fringes and lovely, warm and drapable. I would love to cuddle up in it on a cold winter evening.

Inspiration shawl

This shawl was made from bamboo warp using the word Inspiration to arrange the stripes. This was purchased yarn from a shop which was closing and I only had one ball of each colour to work with so I did some twiddling. The weft is a slub, boucle grey mixed yarn in merino, alpaca and silk. It made for a variable effect. This shawl drapes wonderfully well and is quite large and warm as a wrap.  It may also look lovely as a runner on a table.

Spinning at work

I was working in the Artisan where I am a member but had time to spin. I had brought some merino/silk/cashmere from my stash and had a great time spinning it. It is 100 gm and I only have a few grams to go. I think I will spin up some silk to ply with it. I was thinking how wonderful it is to be able to spin while waiting on customers as well. I was feeling grateful that people think I am doing something so unusual. I was also thinking. “What do they do that is so satisfying?” Unfortunately, I did not ask.

I am heading to my studio to work on weaving my new project. It is a gorgeous baby wrap in zinging colours and will take awhile to weave.

Anise Ostrich Soap

This one time only soap was made from adding two small bottles of ostrich oil I was able to obtain. I will not be getting any more. Although I only put in a bit of anise, along with pine and cedar essential oils, the anise is the most pervasive. Like all my soaps, mild, long lasting. Each bar costs $4.50 and I suggest ordering more than one to save on shipping costs. You may order other soap varieties in the same package.

Olive Oil Soap

An unscented pure olive oil soap for those with sensitive skin. Requested by my husband and others. Also, as I am a felter, this is excellent to use in traditional felt making. Each bar costs $4.50 and I suggest ordering several to save on shipping costs. May be picked up at the studio.

Poppy Seed Soap

Here is a bar of poppy seed soap. The poppy seeds add a mild exfoliation and there is also some comfrey root powder which is healing to the skin. The essential oils added are lemon, lavender, and patchouli which gives this soap a lovely scent. My soaps are made from olive, coconut and palm oils which means they are mild and long lasting. Each soap costs $4.50 plus shipping. I suggest you order several bars to save on shipping costs which you can mix and match.

Unwrapped soap

Poppy Seed Soap as it is not wrapped so you can see the seeds. Too bad you cannot smell how nice it is.
